September’s book is a novel called "Orphan Train" by Christina Baker Kline. Learn about an intriguing part of history that you might not have heard about before: the orphan trains which from the 1850’s to the 1920’s took homeless children in eastern US cities out to the Mid-West to find foster families. Though fictionalized, the novel’s storyline was drawn from accounts by those who were orphan train children.
Discussion on the book will be at Inn at the Springs on September 27. We hope to see you there!
